Terms and Conditions
1. The Services
Silver Oak Stables will provide client with access to one lesson per week, and one group unmounted class per week. The lessons will either be a 30 minute private, 45 minute semi-private of 2, or 1 hour group of 3 or more. Silver Oak Stables Riding School will be closed 5 weeks per year to give the lesson horses a break, allow students to compete at horse shows and not to miss lessons, to run special events, and to give riding instructors a break. The weeks that are off will be communicated via the attached calendar and available on our website.
Students will be automatically grouped together with students of similar ability and level. This is paramount to our barn culture and philosophy of creating a community that encourages camaraderie, friendship and support. We feel this leads to higher quality riding, lessons, and just plain more fun.
Students will start with a 30 minute private lesson until their instructor recommends they are ready to join an appropriate group lesson.
Clients will receive access to a 30 minute goal setting session every Quarter.
2. Client Requirements
Client must show up on time.
Client must be wearing proper riding attire - boots with heels, an ASTM/ SEI certified riding helmet, and breeches. For unmounted lessons - sturdy close-toed shoes, long pants, and (if desired) gloves and an ASTM/ SEI certified riding helmet.
Client must be coachable, positive, and have a good attitude!
We are trying to build a family-like community full of people like YOU, and after the 4th lesson we generally like to ask for the name of 1 person who you would like us to contact and invite to join the program.
3. Compensation and Payment Terms
Our monthly tuition price is based on the annual value. Client will put a credit or debit card on file, and it will be automatically charged their tuition per month. Charges will begin on the first day of enrollment and continue every month thereafter. If client needs to change the credit card on file, please call 707-338-6917 and leave the new credit card number, expiration date, and CVC on the voicemail.
Lessons will be operating on a quarterly basis, and after the introductory lesson(s), the initial minimum commitment is 3 months. For example if a student enrolls February 15th- they cannot cancel prior to May 15th. After the initial 3 month minimum commitment, students will be considered to be enrolled for the entire following quarter if we do not receive notice that you wish to cancel prior to the 1st day of the last month of the quarter. Jan-feb-Mar- is considered Q1. If you do not cancel in writing prior to 11:59pm on February 28th you will be financially committed for all of Q2. April-may-June is considered Q2. If you do not cancel in writing prior to 11:59pm on May 31st you will be financially committed for all of Q3. July-Aug-Sep is Q3. If you do not cancel in writing prior to 11:59pm on August 30th you will be financially committed for all of Q4. Oct-Nov-Dec is Q4. If you do not cancel in writing prior to 11:59pm on November 30th you will be financially committed for all of Q1 for the following year. We have incredible expenses and financial commitments to be able to offer this program- and we depend on students who can make a commitment- as well as give us plenty of notice if they are quitting so that we have time to pull students in from the waiting list to take their place. There is no reason why a student will not be financially committed for the entire quarter, even if they are unable to make it to classes. Example: A student enrolls July 1st. They immediately get sick and cannot ride for 3 months. They still have to pay for July, August, and September- even though they cannot ride. Students must cancel in writing by sending an email to leah@silveroakstablesllc.com for their cancellation to be valid.
4. Scheduling
Client can self schedule depending on the program, or will receive a dedicated time and a day of the week where there will be an appropriate school horse and with a group of riders with similar ability reserved each week. Please remember that Silver Oak Stables will be closed 5 weeks per year.
If client cannot make their time during a week, Silver Oak Stables will allow a maximum of one makeup lesson per month, provided that client cancels by texting 707-338-6917 at least twenty four hours prior to the lesson. If a lesson is not made up within 30 days it will expire. Monthly tuition is still due in full when student misses their lessons. In the event that the weather prevents riding- unmounted horsemanship lessons will be substituted. In the event that weather prevents the barn from being open- video analysis of your riding or theory lessons will be done via zoom at your regular riding time. The best way to get the most value out of the program is to make it a priority and a commitment not to miss your dedicated lesson time(s).
If client would like to make a long-term change to their dedicated lesson time, they may do so a maximum of 1 time in a 90 day period by calling or texting 707-338-6917 and leaving a voicemail.
5. Cancellation.
This agreement may be canceled by providing at least thirty (30) days’ prior written notice to Silver Oak Stables. After 30 days notice is given, client is obligated to pay the tuition for those 30 days, and may attend all classes, or will be charged a $250 cancellation fee. Student will be continually re-enrolled at their current upfront/ monthly rate until Silver Oak Stables is contacted via email or text message (leah@silveroakstablesllc.com; 707-338-6917) and the payment plan is updated. The quarterly calendar is available on our website (silveroakstablesllc.com/calendar).
Upon canceling your subscription, we will schedule an exit interview to hear any useful feedback from you. We are always trying to improve our program and value client feedback.
7. No Guarantee
The company does not warrant or guarantee any specific level of performance or results. The results of your riding program are largely based on the efforts of the student.
8. Communications
Please note that instructors do not have time to discuss client goals and concerns during lesson hours. Please schedule a goal setting meeting to make sure there is a good time set aside for these conversations.
Client agrees to communicate all scheduling changes or any other concerns about the program either through the barn telephone at 707-338-6917 or email leah@silveroakstablesllc.com
